Context
The Sou do Esporte Awards, organised by the Instituto Sou do Esporte, recognise athletes, federations, associations, sports managers and institutions whose work contributes to the development and integrity of sport in Brazil.
Beyond celebrating sporting excellence, the initiative promotes and evaluates best practices in governance, transparency and responsible institutional management within the Brazilian sports ecosystem.
Often described as the “Oscars of Brazilian sport”, the awards have established themselves as an important platform for recognising initiatives that strengthen the social, cultural and institutional impact of sport across the country.
Project
This portfolio selection brings together visual communication developed for three editions of the ceremony, each structured around the legacy of a distinguished athlete whose trajectory inspired the graphic language of the event.
The most recent edition celebrated the 10th anniversary of the awards, held at the historic Copacabana Palace and honouring futsal legend Falcão, widely recognised as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
Previous editions paid tribute to Olympic champion Joaquim Cruz and basketball icon Hortência Marcari — athletes whose careers represent defining moments in Brazilian sporting history.
Each edition required the development of a visual identity inspired by the symbolic universe of the honoured athlete while preserving the institutional tone and credibility of the award.
Design Approach
The design strategy focused on:
• Developing visual identities inspired by the legacy of each honouree
• Structuring editorial and communication materials for the award ceremony
• Establishing clear visual hierarchy for categories, recognitions and institutional messaging
• Balancing celebratory visual expression with the formal character of an institutional award

Result
The resulting work supports one of Brazil’s most relevant initiatives dedicated to strengthening governance, transparency and institutional excellence in sport, while celebrating the athletes and organisations whose contributions continue to shape the cultural and social landscape of Brazilian sport.
